If you live near the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport you should become familiar with
the Airport Compatible Use Overlay District (ACOD)

The county administration is proposing a Text Amendment to the Land Use part of the Comprehensive Plan for DeKalb County that would incorporate the objectives of ACOD with 2002 being the year for implementation.

Citizens opposed to ACOD view it as a vehicle that, if implemented, would infringe on homeowners' property rights in serious ways.

More information on ACOD is available at DeKalb County public libraries and on the Internet as follows:

For a summary of perceived problems to property owners log on to the PDK-Watch Web site at: www.pdkwatch.org

For the complete text of the proposed amendment log on to the county Web site at: www.co.dekalb.ga.us/planning/index.htm In the lower right corner under "Airport Ordinance," click on "Proposed Airport Compatibility Overlay District Ordinance."
